The DAN First Aid for Hazardous Marine Life Injuries course is designed to provide divers (and interested non-divers) with useful tools to identify dangerous marine life species, to avoid possible injuries caused by them and to be ready to provide the necessary first aid.
DAN First Aid for Hazardous Marine Life Injuries

The DAN First Aid for Hazardous Marine Life Injuries course is designed to increase the knowledge of Basic Life Support (BLS) and First Aid and integrate them with specific techniques for the management of injuries caused by dangerous marine life.
This programme also provides the basic tools to recognise potential dangers from marine wildlife and prevent injuries caused by them.

Main objectives
  • Know the different types of injury caused by hazardous marine life:
    Poisoning
    Bites
    Irritations, cuts and abrasions
    Seafood poisoning
  • Warning signs and First Aid procedures specific for the type of injury
  • How to avoid hazardous marine life injuries

Prerequisites

DAN Basic Life Support certification (or equivalent*) /First Aid

(*) A CPR/Basic Life Support course is equivalent to the DAN BLS course if it follows the latest ERC guidelines and the certification is issued by a recognised first aid organisation
